ART BASEL PARIS
For the 2026 edition of Art Basel Paris, Galerie Le Minotaure presents a project dedicated to the radical transformations in the language of abstraction between the 1910s and the 1940s. Initiated by Cubism, these shifts extended into the Russian and European avant-gardes—most notably within movements such as Art Concret and Abstraction-Création, as well as Dada. This evolution also reached the United States, where many artists who had emigrated amidst the two World Wars continued their explorations.
Our exhibition examines the shared ambition of these artists—who grappled with profound political, social, and technological upheavals—to transcend the traditional confines of artistic disciplines, blur the boundaries between painting and sculpture, and redefine both the space of the artwork and its functions.
Featured artists: Wassily Kandinsky, Alexander Archipenko, László Moholy-Nagy, František Kupka, César Domela, Serge Charchoune, Marie Vassilieff, Issachar Ber Ryback, Alfred Reth, Léon Tutundjian…
