Around Léon Tutundjian
STAND O.E 38
This exhibition is an invitation to travel from the origins of geometric abstract art, starting in the early twenties with the spread of the movement dada and constructivism to the consecration of this art when all the avant-gardes of the world gathered in Paris in 1932 under the banner of « Abstraction-Création ». Some of the works shown here come from the collection of Léonce Rosenberg, founder of Galerie de l’Effort Moderne. We will focus on lunar ” Reliefs ” by Léon Tutundjian in 1929, and by his contemporaries : Hans Arp, Etienne Beothy, Alfred Reth. Some of these works were shown and reproduced in the early thirties in various publications of « Abstraction-Création ».
