TEFAF MAASTRICHT 2019

From April 11, 2019, until the end of June, the galleries Le Minotaure and Alain Le Gaillard are preparing the exhibition around biomorphic art in the 1920s and 30s.
The key pieces of this event will be the core of the show that we will propose on our stand during our first participation in the fair TEFAF Masstricht between March 16th and 24th.
Biomorphism is basically a trend of non-geometric abstract art that is largely inspired by organic forms, but we can also find it in the figurative field, especially among the surrealists. From the 1920s-30s, it is widely circulating at the international scene and appears in all areas of creation: painting, sculpture, photography, as well as in design and architecture. The passage through biomorphism is part of the careers of artists as different as Jean Arp, Joan Miro, André Masson Auguste Herbin, Jean Hélion, Yves Tanguy, Étienne Béothy, Cesar Domela, Georges Valmier, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, surpassing this way the very marked cleavages of the time and proposing another possible lecture of modernity.
